Why eat fruits and veggies?

Fruits and vegetables are delicious and nutritious.  They are full of vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. These are nature’s treasure to power our bodies to stay healthy and strong.

Fruits like oranges and strawberries, are excellent sources of vitamin C. Vitamin C helps keep our immune system strong to fight off germs and stay well. Other fruits, like bananas and apples, are good sources of fiber. Fiber makes us feel full and helps keep us regular.

Vegetables like carrots are an excellent source of vitamin A. Vitamin A is great for our eyesight. Eating carrots can help us see better in the dark! Broccoli, the little green trees on our plates, are powerhouses too. They are an excellent source of vitamin K and calcium, to keep our blood and bones strong. Don’t forget about sweet and juicy watermelon! It’s not just a great summer treat; it also keeps us hydrated because it’s made mostly of water. So, whether it’s crunchy, leafy, or juicy, each fruit and vegetable have a unique way of helping our bodies be the best they can be.
